Why We Shouldn’t Eat Cows

Millions of cows are killed each year for our food.  Cows are gentle, loving animals who deserve to be treated with more respect as beings who we share this earth with. If given the chance to connect or bond with one of these animals, you may change your view on slaughtering them by the millions each year for our own pleasure. Hopefully, these photos will bring to you one step closer to making the connection.

Enjoy!

By adopting a vegan diet, you can reduce your risk of osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, cancer etc. You can also cure allergies and acne as well as improving sleep and boosting energy levels.
Your diet will be more friendly to the environment. You’ll be reducing your water usage as well as helping to preserve habitats and species across the world.
People are becoming more aware about how animal agriculture is unsustainable and often cruel, but it’s been proven that animal products are harmful to human health and the environment. If we don’t begin to make changes in our diets soon, we will be suffering serious consequences in just a few decades.

Why We Shouldn’t Eat Pigs

Is it possible to want to eat innocent pigs after flicking through this gallery post?

Pigs are incredible, intelligent, gentle creatures. But most people who decide to put them on there plates every day, haven’t actually met a pig before or had the chance to connect with these beautiful animals. Hopefully, these photos will bring to you one step closer to making the connection.

Enjoy!

!

Pigs love cuddling, snuggling and sleeping nose to nose. They dream, just as humans do.  They enjoy listening to music, playing, exploring and sunbathing.

Newborn piglets learn to run to their mothers voices and respond to their individual names. Mother pigs who are nursing, sing to their piglets.

Pigs are actually very clean animals. If given enough space, they will not soil in the same area that they sleep.

“I know of no other animals [who] are more consistently curious, more willing to explore new experiences, more ready to meet the world with open mouthed enthusiasm. Pigs, I have discovered, are incurable optimists and get a big kick out of just being.” -Biologist and Johannesburg Zoo director Lyall Watson.

Activism Through Talent

Below is an example of how artists can merge activism with their talents. Musician Jack Dean wrote a touching song about the cruelty that exists within the food industry and how we need to make the connection that animal are not ours to exploit.

It’s estimated that 160 billion animals are killed each year for our food alone. This is an unnecessary figure as it has been proven that animal products are not needed for good health. This is not a case of survival. The majority of humans eating animal products are not eating them because there is simply no other food available, but because ‘they like the taste’ or from lack of knowledge about human health, animal suffering and the environment.

The vegan movement needs more activists to educate people about the effect eating animal product has on our bodies, the animals and the planet.  Often, the most effective activism is the most creative. Artwork, music, poetry, photography etc. has the ability to catch peoples’ eyes and reach new audiences.
