Overwhelmed Vegan?

As an ethical vegan, I try to watch as much videos on the truth about the meat industry or animal testing etc. But it’s easy to break down and become overwhelmed and frustrated by it all.

Although I encourage people to inform themselves of the animal abuse occurring throughout the world (especially if they, themselves are contributing to it) I do still recommend that you take a break from it all and cool down if it’s really effecting you, especially if you have already decided to not support the abuse itself. Try not to feel guilty about taking a break either. Know that you’re doing your best for the animals (or that you will from now on).

The way I look at it is, if I can convince just once person to go vegan (or at least cut down on their meat consumption) then that could result in saving an animals life. And, to me, the value of even just one animals life is huge and extremely important.

So if it’s becoming too much, take a break, cool down and focus your mind on something else for a while and when your ready, return to the Peta videos or the Gary Yourofsky’s speeches. But do not forget that whatever pain your experiencing by watching the suffering of animals is nothing in comparison to what their going through.

You may not be able to change the world, but you can definitely change an animals world.

  1. I used to be on Facebook where I would post several animal rights issues a day. However, it was starting to really get me depressed when no one seemed to care, so I left. It’s nice to see that there are some kindred souls here.
